On the radar….

It’s a busy time of the year with Spring here. Here’s some of the things on our radar…

-First up our friends at the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce are holding their March Madness Business Expo on March 30th at 5:30pm. Several Coral Gables restaurants will be there while you browse with local businesses.

-House Kitchen and Bar is now open and we couldn’t be happier! Our friends at Town (South Miami) have opened their latest restaurant in the old Sushi Samba spot. This new spot is a welcome addition to Aragon Avenue. Chef Michael Altman heads up this yummy spot. If you missed our profile on him check it out here. We will be eating here later this week and will have a full report coming up.

-Pizza Rev is opening soon in Coral Gables. According to their Facebook page, “PizzaRev® is a fast-casual concept featuring a distinctive Craft Your Own® pizza assembly process. Guests are empowered to fully customize a personal 11″ pizza, with any of our 30+ artisanal ingredients, for one price. Homemade dough options, flavorful sauces, all-natural cheeses, and locally sourced veggies where available, everything is on display at PizzaRev and assembled right before your eyes. The pizzas are then fired in a 900-degree, stone-bed oven, producing a thin and crispy Roman-style pizza in just three minutes.” Look for this great new restaurant in our upcoming issue of Let’s Eat Magazine.

Shula Burger is now open in Pinecrest and what a welcome addition it is! Their website says, “Coach Shula knows perfection and wants you to experience the perfect hamburger from Shula Burger! Shula’s Signature Burgers are freshly made from a blend of Premium Black Angus Beef, Short Rib and Brisket so that you enjoy a tasty, juicy burger every time. Dine outside on our dog-friendly patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of Pinecrest.” We love that the legendary Don Shula was at the opening last week.

-Plnthuse opened this week. It’s the latest restaurant from the Chef behind Plant Food and Wine. According to their website, “plnthouse, the good kitchen, is located at the stunning sustainable 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach, on Miami Beach. The breezy cafe’s indoor/outdoor aesthetic is designed to compliment the beach vibe of the property and features a menu of whole, healthful, plant-based items that will complement the environmentally conscious, luxe 1 Hotel. The menu includes cold pressed juices and smoothies, a wide range of both raw and cooked plant-based dishes, an extensive dessert program and a full wine and cocktail menu built from craft liquors and fresh juices, herbs and local fruits. Plantlab and 1 Hotels both emphasize sustainable ideals and overall wellness: from energy conservation, to locally grown foods, a connection to nature, and the importance of fitness.  The alignment between the two brands is unmistakable.” We are so glad to see more and more quality vegan and vegetarian food popping up around South Florida.

Harrys Pizza Shrimp

-Harry’s Pizzeria is opening soon in Downtown Dadeland. We frequent restaurants in this area because it’s convenient and the options continue to grow. We spotted the Coconut Grove location late last year. Check it out here: http://letseatmiami.com/2016/11/09/lets-eat-harrys-pizzeria/ We can’t wait to get their pizzas and polenta fries in this new location. We’ll share the opening date with you when we get it.
